The Internet has aroused great attention of all governments, scientific research and educational sectors, entrepreneurial circles, and other fields in the world and also in China, in where internet has been rapidly expanded in the past year. It is estimated that by the end of 1995, there were about 10,000 computer nodes connected with the Internet serving about 100,000 users in China. However, this is only a beginning, only the first step of the Long March.Furthermore, the network environment in China is somewhat different from that abroad, in order to meet the demands of Internet users, Internet fans and the mass of new users in China, an Internet Training Center has been set up in Beijing running by IHEP, ISTIC and ChinaNet, also a Proposal to publish a chinese magazine about internet which is now called "Internet Forum" is given and now you can see the electronic version on http://www.ihep.ac.cn/. I am in charging of these two projects and be willing to promote the development of internet in China. I have given more than 20 lectures around country to introduce Internet.
China home page and it's mirrored site in both http://solar.rtd.utk.edu/~china/ and http://china-window.com/ are running quite well. Especially for the China-Window you may find many new aspects from China.
It is pleasure for me to talk with ISP providers for more suggestions and cooperations to help internet developing in China.
